China TravelPal
Terms of Service

Fair, simple terms

No legalese maze — this page says what China TravelPal is, what you get when you pay, and how refunds work. It's short enough to actually read.

What the service is

China TravelPal is an AI travel companion for visiting China, available as a chat bot on Telegram and as a web chat on this site. You ask travel questions; it answers from a curated, sourced knowledge base. Paid tiers add real human experts. Using the free tier requires no account with us and no payment details — just open the chat.

By using China TravelPal you accept these terms, our privacy policy, and our disclaimer. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

Free tier

The free tier gives you an allowance of free messages (shown in the chat when it matters). It exists so you can genuinely try the service — it isn't a trial that expires, and we don't ask for a card.

Paid products — one-time, never a subscription

Everything we sell is a one-time purchase; nothing renews automatically. Current products and prices are listed on the pricing page and at checkout: trip passes (unlimited daily use for a fixed number of days, subject to the fair-use caps on the pricing page), the expert itinerary review (a real China-travel expert reviews your itinerary and sends a written report in the chat, typically within about 24 hours), and the on-trip expert companion (below). Paid products are currently purchased and delivered in the Telegram chat, because that's where our human experts can reach you.

To buy you must be legally able to make the purchase (an adult, or with your guardian's permission).

How the companion works

The on-trip expert companion covers your actual trip dates, up to 15 days per purchase. Unlimited AI answers start the moment you buy; your human expert joins from a week before your trip starts until it ends, checking answers and following up personally. One expert itinerary review is included. Before your trip window opens you also get a daily planning allowance, shown in the chat.

Trip postponed? We'll move your companion window to your new dates once per purchase, as long as your original trip hadn't already started. For anything the automatic reschedule can't handle, just ask in the chat — a human will sort it out.

Payments

All payments are processed by Stripe over their secure checkout. We never see or store your card details. Prices are in USD; international cards are welcome. Promotional or partner access codes can be redeemed with /redeem in the bot; each code works once and expires as stated when you receive it.

Refunds — 7-day money-back guarantee

Not happy with a purchase? Send /refund in the bot within 7 days and your first refund is automatic — no questions asked. Beyond that (a repeat request, or after 7 days), a human reviews it and we aim to be fair; where expert work has already been delivered, we may take that into account. Refunds go back to your original payment method via Stripe, which typically takes 5–10 business days to appear.

Please reach for /refund (or contact us) before disputing a charge with your bank — it's faster for you, and a chargeback automatically revokes the access it paid for.

Fair use

Quotas and daily caps (they're on the pricing page) exist to keep the service fast and available for real travelers — they're set several times higher than the busiest real travel day. Please don't abuse the service: no automated scraping, no reselling access, no using it for anything unlawful or harmful. We may limit or suspend access that abuses the service or attempts to circumvent its limits, and where we do, the refund policy above still applies to unused paid time.

Availability

We work to keep China TravelPal available around the clock, but we can't promise uninterrupted service — we depend on third parties (Telegram, AI providers, networks) and, inside mainland China, on your connectivity (a travel eSIM or VPN is usually needed for Telegram; our answers cover this). Outages don't extend paid windows automatically, but if downtime meaningfully affected something you paid for, tell us — the refund policy above applies.

Information, not advice

Our answers — AI and human-checked alike — are well-researched travel information to support your own decisions, not professional, legal, immigration, financial, or medical advice. Rules change fast and depend on your nationality and circumstances; always confirm critical details with official sources. The full details, including our limitation of liability, are in the disclaimer, which is part of these terms.

Your content and our content

Your messages are yours. You give us permission to process them to answer you and run the service, as described in the privacy policy. Want your stored data erased? Ask in the chat or email us and we'll remove what we've stored. Everything that makes up China TravelPal itself — the knowledge base, the site, the brand — belongs to us; your purchase gives you personal, non-transferable use of the service, not a license to resell or copy it.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product evolves; the current version, with its "last updated" date, always lives on this page. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect, and your continued use means you accept them.
